I’m Simon—a 37yr old regular North East dad who’s been to the darkest places in my early 20’s and emerged to help others break free.
For over 20 years, I coached thousands of men and women in North East England to become stronger—not just in the gym, but in life – helping them to rediscover themselves, their self worth and self belief.
I started working as a 17-year-old kid with a passion for training, working shifts at a gym near Newcastle. Ten years later, I bought that gym and turned it into a sanctuary—a community gym, a place where people found working out comfortable, their purpose, healing, and strength to break past their physical and mental barriers.
For over a decade, I poured my heart and soul into that space, working 70+ hour weeks, never taking a break, never a single week off even at Christmas – helping thousands to achieve their targets.
But it came at a cost. I missed my kids’ childhoods, pushed through burnout, in my earlier 20’s battled dark places, relationship struggles, financial issues, death of close friends and family members and carried relentless stress. I coped by drinking too much which just made me feel more miserable and drained.
As I navigated my way through it all, growing, learning, understanding myself, creating solutions for everything finally in 2018, 2019 the gym grew, I had plans, reinvested a lot back in, renovating, adding new equipment, plans for increasing car parking, brought in staff to allow me some odd days off.
The first 3 months of 2020 were the best 3 months I ever had…..
Then, everything I built came crashing down. COVID hit, and I fought tooth and nail to keep my gym alive, supported by an incredible community who rallied to help me bounce back. But in 2023 the landlords and local authorities had other plans. They came in with nearly seven figures to redevelop the site—big money, big plans, no room for me. My contract wasn’t renewed, and in April 2024, my gym closed its doors for good.
I stood in the rubble of my life’s work, 20 years of sacrifice gone. I lost direction. I lost myself. Depression swallowed me whole again, and I felt like I’d failed—not just myself, but every person who’d walked through those doors, and most of all, my family.
But in that loss, and because this time around – I already knew how to manage the dark places, push through it, more stoic, able to find gratitude and positives…. I found something much greater for my next chapter in life.
With free time I hadn’t had in decades, I reflected, parented, trained, and cooked real food—off a plate, not out of Tupperware on the gym floor. I spent the remainder of 2024 understanding myself even more, working on myself, training, walking, gardening asking the question that would redefine my life moving forward: What impact do I truly want to have on this world in my next chapter?
The chapter of my life as a gym owner was over – I was free to create my next chapter. Resources. Time. Experience. I had some ideas of things I could do – but, none of it truly felt like my true purpose… like it was my calling from God.
This mission is for my family—my three kids and my partner of 15 years, Samantha.
My son, now almost 14, has cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening illness that forces him to fight every single day. Doctors told me he might not see his 18th birthday. I watch him endure daily medications, monthly hospital visits, constant challenges—yet he pushes forward with a resilience that humbles me to my core. He’s my inspiration, my “why.” I’m on a mission to give him the best life possible—Disneyland, theme parks, adventures, memories that matter. I want him to experience everything a kid should, despite the odds.
But this fight isn’t just for him—it’s for every parent who feels trapped, just like I was.
In my early 20s, I was a wreck—crippled by suicidal thoughts, depression, burnout, a failing relationship, and financial stress. I was the master of excuses, unable to stick to any diet, training plan, or even the practices I now live by—nature, organic gardening, holistic bodybuilding, clean eating. Something was always missing. I’d start, feel myself being pulled back, give in to weakness, and fall into the same cycles. I had no self-worth, no self-belief, no self-confidence—my self-discipline was nonexistent. People expect personal trainers to have insane levels of discipline, but I didn’t. I didn’t even realize what I was missing, why I kept failing, or how to fix it.
It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom and started to navigate my way through it that I understood: mental health struggles strip you of mental toughness, grit, fortitude—the ability to endure the long path and see things through till the end. Without mental toughness – you can’t stick to the things you want to! I had to learn that self-discipline, self-confidence, and mental toughness are skills—skills you can build, improve, and master. They’re not something you’re born with, and they’re critical to rebuilding yourself after the darkness. Without them, you’ll always be pulled back—by your own mind, and by a system designed to keep you hooked.
For years, I watched people walk into my gym burned out, lost, broken, running on empty, with no real purpose.
They weren’t just struggling with training—they were struggling with their bodies, their minds, their very souls.
They felt ashamed of their bodies, avoiding intimacy with their partners, skipping the beach, unable to keep up with the younger generation. Their health was slipping—blood pressure up, cholesterol a worry, fatigue crushing them. They were stressed, anxious, worsening mental health, depressed, numbing out with beers/drinks, TV, junk food, anything to escape the pain. They’d tried diets, trainers, programs—nothing worked long term, leaving them feeling like failures, trapped in a prison of their own making.
But it’s not their fault—it’s the system’s. I realized I wasn’t failing all those years—the system was designed to pull me back. Processed food, alcohol. TV. Gaming—they’re engineered to keep you addicted, to hijack your brain with dopamine hits, to make you weak, dependent, asleep. The world we live in is rigged against you, run by powers who profit off your struggle. Governments erode your freedoms—COVID-19 lockdowns and mandates stripped away your choices while they handed out contracts to their mates. The World Economic Forum pushes The Great Reset, merging humans with tech to control us—our kids’ future sold out for their agenda. Elites like Bill Gates, George Soros, the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers—they dominate pharma, banking, education, pushing toxins, endocrine disruptors that sap your testosterone, your vitality, your manhood. They profit while cancer rates soar, mental health crumbles, and your family’s future hangs in the balance. They don’t want you strong, sovereign, awake—because a human who knows their power is a human they can’t control as easily.
At this point a lot of people turn off to my story because it can be perceived as conspiracy stuff – but maybe you can see:
Mental Health Of Our Nation Is On It’s Knees
Increased rates of anxiety, depression, burnout, and stress.
Lack of resilience, difficulty managing emotions, and low self-confidence.
Declining Testosterone & Increasing Hormone/Fertility Issues
Physical weakness, lower libido, poor motivation, declining energy, and difficulties maintaining muscle mass.
Impacts on relationships, self-esteem, and overall quality of life.
Disease and Chronic Illness Epidemics
Rising obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular issues, and rising autoimmune disorders.
Often driven by poor nutrition, sedentary lifestyles, environmental toxins, and lack of awareness around holistic health practices.
In my opinion, this isn’t all by accident.
People stay trapped on this default path—reacting to life, never questioning the script they’ve been handed. They don’t hear their body’s sacred cries—what it craves to feel strong, alive, divine. They don’t see the universe’s rhythm in the sunrise, the sacredness of a body that can rise, fight, thrive.
They’re not reading the instruction manual for the most complex organism on Earth: their own body. They wait until it’s shattered—high blood pressure, a mental health crisis, a body they despise—before they even try to understand it, like reading the manual for a camera after it’s broken, realising, they camera was capable of way more quality shots – but now it’s to late, coz’ it’s smashed!
The human body is COMPLEX-MASTERPEICE! The Body. The Mind. The Soul. It’s about time we slow down and put more effort into looking after it, protecting it, nurturing it, understanding it, feeding it! After all, you only get one human. Your vehicle through your one and only shot of a precious life on this Earth.
I always meal prepped and ate well. But in between and at home I did eat some shite. I did eat some take aways. I always trained and walked, but on and off and often not fully applying myself!
Now, I live a 100% clean eating, low-toxin, holistic bodybuilding, organic gardening lifestyle—not because it’s trendy, but because it’s a rebellion. A rebellion against big food, big pharma, and the elites who profit off your struggle. I’m here to help you reclaim your sovereignty, physically, mentally, spiritually.
There’s people that do the bodybuilding. There’s people that do the organic gardening. There’s people that do the spiritual stuff.
Linking it all together is the ULTIMATE STRATEGY, IMO!
I train between Greenside Gym, Trugym and at home, building natural strength, natural muscle, and mostly for the mindset and health benefits for the long haul—no steroids, no shortcuts, just real, intentional living – NOT for bodyshape, ego, or to look good while partying.
I grow my own food—blueberries, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, broad beans, pea pods, runner beans, tomatoes, rocket, spinach…. potatoes, herbs.
I’m planting to keep my life low-toxin and partially self-sufficient.
In 2014, when I wrote my first book after already training a bunch of clients – avoiding chemicals in food was the main point which helped them experience amazing results. Pesticides, insecticides, artificial sweeteners, colourings, flavours, regulators, thickeners, chemical fertilisers – they’re all slow burning poisons that disrupt your body, effecting digestion, mood, energy and hormones.
I bake my own artisan bread, learning with every loaf to create something pure in a world of processed junk. These aren’t just hobbies—they’re acts of defiance.
I don’t just follow a fitness program—it’s a movement toward personal freedom, strength, and independence.
